Boo Boo

We recently visited Cades Cove again in Tennessee. My sweet boy just had to take his golf club. They are hardly ever separated lately. It is kind of funny, at the shoe store he kept it by his side, at breakfast it had its own chair, and as we walked around on the trails he would take practice swings.

He posed with it in true Tyler fashion. Cheese!

As we crossed a bridge he was running and lept off the other side and landed hard on his belly. Most of the hit was taken to his knuckles, especially the one holding the club.

After we visited the ranger station for a first aid kit, we cleaned his ouchie with antiseptic and wrapped it carefully with a band aid. He was then good to go.

Getting the Hang of Finger Painting

It has been a while since I pulled out the finger paint, but I think the time was worth it because he really got into it this time.

He enjoyed the paint on his fingers and rubbing it all over the paper. Mixing the colors was an immediate reaction and seeing what it was doing on his hands.

He loved showing me his messy hands and telling me that he was a mess.

I have to agree, he is my little messy boy.

Happy Valentine's Day

Tyler got a special heart pancake for Valentine's Day. He tried a few bites but all he was concerned about was eating all the small heart sprinkles out of it. He worked and worked at it. Such a yummy day.

Saturday Nap Time

How do you know your toddler is ready for a nap?

When he independently climbs into his daddy's lap and lays down.

I don't think he really knew that he was tired because he needed a nap. I think he wanted to snuggle with dad, but the yawns and the rubbing of his eyes were another hint that it was time to get a little rest. I grabbed a book for dad to read to him. Then I scooped him up in my arms and snuggled him all the way to his bed. He was asleep in less than 2 minutes.

Playroom Chaos

Let me start by saying that I am extremely thankful for the blessings that God has given us. It's just there are times that I look around and think where did all this stuff come from? He is only 2 years old!

As you can see Tyler is very content in his sea of toys. I grabbed a box to sort through my stuff in the corner dresser drawers to clear out space for Tyler's art supplies. At this point, Tyler's things take up most of 2 rooms, a drawer in the kitchen, a corner in the living room, and his very own bathroom.

I try to make sure that he plays with everything and I remind him who gave him what and how nice it was for them to give him these things. Lessons on gifts and being thankful are hard to understand sometimes for a toddler but he takes pretty good care of his toys and books so maybe it's working.

I know that the Lego's that I step on are placed there by you God as a sharp reminder to me of my family's blessings. Thank you Lord for all of your lessons on life's blessings.

Hut-Hut

This is my little athlete. He insists on wearing the helmet while we play football. Probably a good idea considering we run around the house.

This is how the game goes: First, we face off, then Tyler runs saying, "hut-hut." This puts me in motion for running  after him. He usually laughs the whole time.

I grab him and act like I am tackling him.

He loved watching the Super Bowl last night. He watched the first half of it and then it was bed time. We learned how to make the safety call using hand signals.

Congrats Giants on your victory, we were pulling for you!
