Human Nature and Reverse Psychology

Why is it that you could care less about having something until someone tells you "No."

I can live without chocolate and coffee until I go on a diet or I am told I cannot have it.

I don't like to be bossed around, so I can understand a little when Tyler goes for the forbidden things.

The temptation is worth the pain. He is actually crying here. His dump truck must have poked his foot.

He passed up all these wonderful toys to get to my phone.

He is so full-filled by getting to this phone.

The joy is very evident at his success. He usually squeals with excitement.

I found him an old cell phone and cleaned it up. I removed the battery and antennae. He was thrilled for all of one day, until he realized it was not a restricted item.

I pretend to talk on it and send texts just so it makes him think it is real. I even move it from reach sometimes. Reverse psychology. One day this will not work and he will just roll his eyes at me.

Tis the Season to Share

I love being home.

I love the warmth and the lights on the tree. I love that Santa is in the room. I went all out this year.

Tyler loves him.

Santa sings and dances. He shakes those hips while singing, "You better be good..."

Tyler dances too.

The Grinch and Max are in the kitchen with my treat filled tree.

Tyler loves him too. He is a little scary to me, so next year I am afraid he will be a little too scary for Tyler.

Now, what Tyler is really enjoying lately is Tucker's toys.

We have been getting so excited about the toys for his Christmas and Birthday.

But he really focuses more on Tucker's chew toys.

He loves trying to play with Tucker.

Giving him the toy and then taking it away. Playing tug-o-war or trying to get a taste himself. I try to prevent this, yuck.

What I am wondering, is if I should have done the vast majority of my shopping for him at Petco.

I have a feeling Christmas morning will be us trying to keep his attention on his stocking and not Tucker's.

Note to Tyler from Mommy

Dear Tyler,

I love you so very much. You are my sunshine, my snuggle bug, and my drool monster.

You are so funny and charming and I don't know what I would do without you.

Time is going by a little too fast and I feel I can barely keep up with all the milestones you are achieving. So please just try to slow down a little.

Superbowl with Daddy.
What did Daddy and I do without you? We never knew what we were missing until we had you.

Thank you for keeping me on my toes and making me want to try to improve this world for you. I never prayed for patience but the Lord is providing me with an abundance everyday.

I love when you give momma hugs and I hope you learn the difference between biting and kissing soon. We will keep working on that one.

I am so glad that you love Tucker but he doesn't like his ears and tail to be yanked on.

Please stay the sweet, sensitive, and friendly little guy that you are.

I love you with all my heart.

SP Imaging: Favorite Photos

This is some of my favorite shots. These are the pictures that have been causing me to loose sleep and stare at my wall because I cannot figure out my favorites. I love them all. Please help me. I don't want to have to close my eyes and pick because then I would have to take my eyes off of them.

Select your favorites and tell me why. I have lost my reasoning skills and need to prioritize pictures in this way. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Also drop by Stephan's page, SP Imaging, and let him know what you think or just book a time for your family. The starving college kid would love to help ya.

Now please find below my favorites and the reason for my insomnia and obsession.

The background and soft color. Look at that old plow and flowers.

Okay everyone is looking at the camera and smiling!

This is great because it is just me and the hubby.

I like the character this one has.

Once again I love the character, and the unusual pose.

I love the soft color and look at my little man. How cute.

His smile is contagious. I love the black and white.

Here he is just so happy with his daddy.

Look how blue our eyes are.

Once again the expressions are killing me and look how blue his eyes are!

I love the rustic feel of this shot and the character of the cabin. Just gorgeous.

I love the color.

The texture in this picture is wonderful. I just can't do it justice here on the blog. Look at the cabin, the mountains, the rock work, okay just crop us out and you will have an even better image.

This needs to be an 11x14 or larger to judge it better.

Black and white.

How am I going to decide? They are so beautiful. I love them Stephan, and thank you again for all of your hard work. I love you and your camera.

SP Imaging: Family Funnies

These pictures were bound to happen. Faces that are not flattering or they are just comical. I laughed, some of these are completely unplanned and surprise shots Stephan captured for us.

What are we saying here?

Where are we? Where are we going?

I don't know exactly.

Spit shot. Drool and babies just go together.

Giggles then hiccups.

Dad is just as excited as him.

He loves this. Look at the color in this photo. Awesome Stephan, just awesome.

SP Imaging: Working with an 8 month old.

There were some difficulties with this photo shoot. One being lady bugs. Blasted bugs were everywhere. In my hair and just all over. I about ate one and I smelled like them after awhile, but we over came and prevailed in the end.

Our next difficulty was getting our usually smiling and happy boy to smile. Never really works trying to coax a smile when nothing is really funny. Dang bugs.

But regardless, a baby is cute. Even if they don't smile.

The expressions and faces are exactly what he is like all the time. Sweet and observant. Even if he is not looking at the camera. Which was our next obstacle.

He is completely oblivious to the camera, but every picture is precious. He wanted to check out what was going on with the grass, trees, and the church hayride behind us.

Joy that cannot be hidden. I still got him to giggle though.

I think he got hiccups after laughing this hard.

Just sweetness in general.

We were so tired after all the pictures. They are so worth it though.

Contact SP Imaging if you are interested in setting up a time for a photo shoot. He does amazing Senior portraits as well. Hopefully your senior has a better attention span than my little guy.

More to come this week.

SP Imaging: Family Love and Togetherness

I love the moments that are captured that are not the usual. That is why we chose the cabins and surrounding area at the Big Ivy Community Center. I wanted to show warm family moments that didn't appear forced.

Stephan did a good job of getting the message across and editing the pictures in such a fun and appealing way.

Family time on the front porch.

Love both of my boys.

I could not live without them.

It's not fair that all of these pictures are so good. What will I do? I can't decide.

Blue eyes

I love my family. Our special moments were definitly captured here. I can't wait to show off more of these wonderful pictures.

Have you found a favorite yet? Believe me there are more to come. Stephan seemed to capture them all.
